Foot Locker Is All Set To Launch Its First Store & E-commerce Website In India
Hello Sneakerheads,
A global leader in sneaker culture, known for its curated selection of top brands and deep community has pulled off the smartest move. And guess what? They’ve chosen one of the hottest consumer markets—India!
As the fifth-largest and one of the youngest consumer markets globally, India is the perfect place for sneaker culture to thrive, especially among the youth. Recognizing this, New York-based multi-brand sneaker retailer Footlocker is set to inaugurate its omnichannel launch in India on October 19th.
Partnering with Metro Inc. brands for physical stores and NykaaFashion for the e-commerce operation, they’re all geared to take India’s sneaker market by storm.
As part of this, they’re bringing their globally recognized Reimagined store concept to India, offering sneaker lovers an exciting and modern shopping experience. The first store, opening at Select City Walk in Delhi is designed to provide a unique, interactive, and seamless shopping journey.

Alongside the physical store launch, Nykaa Fashion will bring the same experience to the digital ecosystem. Customers can shop through the Foot Locker website, as well as the Shop-in-Shop on Nykaa Fashion and Nykaa Man platforms. Nykaa Fashion’s advanced digital platform is designed to offer convenience with a high level of personalization at every interaction.
Commenting on the launch of India’s first Foot Locker store, Peter Scaturro, Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning & Growth of Foot Locker, Inc., said, “Bringing Foot Locker to India, via licensing arrangements with Metro Brands and Nykaa Fashion, is a pivotal milestone in our global expansion. India’s vibrant sneaker culture offers a unique opportunity for Foot Locker to become a leading brand. With our Foot Locker Reimagined concept, we aim to elevate the sneaker experience by blending innovation and technology in an immersive environment. Together with Metro Brands and Nykaa Fashion, we’re thrilled to inspire and empower Indian sneakerheads to express their individuality and connect with the Heart of Sneakers.”
Through this, we assume Foot Locker India will become the number one spot that connects its products with youth, culture, and passionate communities. At the heart of this are the brand’s ambassadors, known as Stripers—a diverse team of experts who will be the first point of contact in stores. They will also play a key role in community programs and enhance the shopping experience. Doesn’t that sound fantastic?
Customer-centric programs like India’s FLX(TRA) Rewards Program will also make the brand experience special. Through their partnership with Foot Locker, Metro Brands and Nykaa Fashion will bring Indian consumers easier access to bestselling sneaker and apparel brands, including Nike, Adidas, PUMA, New Balance, FILA, Asics, New Era, and many more.
To further extend the holistic experience, customers can personalize their sneakers at the Sneaker Hub and protect their favorite kicks with sneaker care brands like Crep Protect.
This deep understanding and next-gen retail experience for Indian consumers will only fuel the growth of Foot Locker in India.
“We see the opportunity, India is the fifth-largest consumer market in the world. I would add that the brand partners that we work with are also very excited about growing their presence in this important market. So, it’s a high priority; we see definite growth ahead,” Mary Dillon, president and chief executive officer, Foot Locker, told LiveMint in an interview.
With over 2,500 stores in more than 40 countries, Foot Locker is already redefining the industry.
