The Luxurification Of The Paris 2024 Olympics
The 2024 Summer Olympics have commenced, offering fashion its biggest opportunity yet to shine on the world’s most prestigious sporting stage — right in the heart of its own global capital.
Hello Folks,
Known for its history of classy Olympic uniforms from brands like Issey Miyake, Ralph Lauren, and Dior, this year was no different. LVMH, the luxury giant behind Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chaumet, and Tiffany & Co. partnered with the Olympics for the first time, blending high fashion with the world’s elite sporting event.
LVMH’s involvement brought its prestigious brands into the spotlight throughout the games, adding a touch of elegance to its host city. Outside the LVMH circle, many global designers have crashed in on the Olympics’ sky-high viewership by crafting athletes’ uniforms.
So, here we are to highlight a few of the standout Olympic uniforms.
Team Mongolia: Michel & Amazonka

Sisters Michel, Amazonka, and Munkhjargal Choigaalaa of the couture label Michel & Amazonka designed Team Mongolia’s uniforms for Paris 2024 in just three months.
The designs featured meaningful embroidery: birds for freedom, mountains symbolizing the nation’s landscape and hard work, and gold and silver accents for elegance, all in Mongolia’s national colors of blue, red, and white.
Team Canada: Lululemon

Vancouver’s Lululemon has innovatively designed one of the most inclusive collections yet, blending performance fabrics with avant-garde design.
Their stylish athletic wear featured bespoke Canadian prints meeting athletes’ holistic needs on the ground.
Team Haiti: Stella Jean

Italian designer Stella Jean designed Team Haiti’s Paris 2024 uniforms, honoring her Haitian roots.
She collaborated with artist Philippe Dodard and included his artwork in the designs. Female athletes wore Haitian-woven chambray shirts with full skirts, while males donned field jackets inspired by the classic Haitian Guayabera shirt.
Team USA: Ralph Lauren

A 14-piece custom collection by Ralph Lauren for Team USA at Paris 2024 featured a preppy blue wool blazer for the Opening Ceremony and a relaxed race-car style white jacket for the Closing Ceremony.
The designs were inspired by vibrant Paris and patriotic red, white, and blue, which stars like LeBron James and Simone Biles will be seen wearing.
Team France: Berluti

French brand Berluti aimed to capture true French elegance with their designs for Team France.
Athletes and Olympic committees were involved in designing modern tuxedos in a contemporary French flag color intended to inspire pride and greatness on home turf.

And just like these, many other brands did some incredible job as well. Menswear label Concrete outfitted Team Egypt, while British-African brand Labrum teamed up with Adidas for Team Sierra Leone’s gear, showcasing the vibrant Cowrie Shell motif on the iconic Three Stripes.
Webber’s LW Pearl brand has designed and added a personal touch by embroidering each athlete’s county on their gear giving a unique, individual flair to the uniforms, and so on.
Fashion has always been a part of the Olympics, but its prominence at this summer’s games is especially striking given the industry’s recent focus on sports. In a world often divided, the Olympics offer a rare chance for global unity.
It’s an opportunity for fashion brands to shine whether through backing top athletes or displaying their designs in celebration.
The 2024 Paris Olympics has represented the peak of this intersection of sports and style, promising to be the most fashion-forward games ever. As spectators, we’re given a fleeting but powerful connection to something greater than ourselves, making this year’s event all the more compelling.
